Position Title: Intermediate Business System Analyst, Enterprise Platforms

Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Enterprise Platforms

Department : IT Corporate Services

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.



The Opportunity : Equitable is growing! We are looking for a Intermediate Business System Analyst, Enterprise Platforms to join our IT Corporate Services ! In this role, the successful candidate will be a highly analytical specialist, responsible for both business and technical analysis, focused on bringing efficiency and business value to various business teams utilizing components of Equitable’s capture, imaging, and business process automation solutions. What you will be doing:

• Be part of a dynamic IT team that provides first level operational support of Enterprise Content Management solutions and provides initial triage of business system issues and enhancement requests.
• Lead business solution analysis for small to medium enhancement initiatives. Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as technical knowledge to clarify current business processes, and the value drivers and attributes of the business requirements for change.
• Perform quality assurance testing, including creation and execution of test strategies, test plans, executing test cases and defect management, to ensure solution quality and functional acceptability.
• Partner with technical members of the team to determine use cases and finalize solution approach. Clearly document solutions into a functional technical specification document that successfully translates requirements into a solution that is consumable by business and IT Developers.
• Engage and collaborate closely with business teams, senior ECM team members and other IT teams to identify and drive opportunities for improvement and business efficiencies.
  
  

What you will bring:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an IT Business Systems Analyst in the insurance or financial sector.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills. The ability to translate complex ideas in simple language for non-technical audiences and skilled at documenting business processes into use cases or user stories.
• Highly process-driven and detailed-oriented. Excel at optimizing process and thinking logically.
• Experience with enterprise workflow, queue management or business process automation technologies will be an asset (e.g., Hyland’s OnBase solution).
• Dedication to learning business processes and ensuring excellent customer service in supporting a variety of applications.
• Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment. Strong interpersonal and partnership building skills; can reach out and engage a variety of individuals.
• General IT knowledge including basic understanding of integration API/Webservices, networks and active directory.
• Post-secondary education in computer science, management information systems or information science, and/or equivalent working experience.
• Good understanding of the IT solution delivery lifecycle (systems environments, quality assurance and change management).
• Working knowledge of SQL/Access queries and Microsoft Office Suite.
