Job summary

Fluor Canada Ltd. is seeking an Architect III to develop and review scope of services, facilities, and project baseline documents for industrial projects.

You will coordinate design for heavy industrial facilities and enclosures, collaborating with disciplines, clients, vendors and subcontractors to deliver constructible designs in a 3D environment. The ideal candidate has an architectural degree, 6+ years of industrial design experience, and strong knowledge of Canadian codes.

Qualifications

• Architectural degree from an accredited university.
• Registered with AAA or eligible for registration in Alberta.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in shaping medium to heavy industrial facilities.
• Solid understanding of Canadian building codes, regulations and industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Developing and reviewing project scope of services, facilities, and baseline documents for all project phases.
• Coordinating the design of industrial buildings and equipment enclosures for heavy industry projects.
• Collaborating with other disciplines, clients, vendors and subcontractors to progress designs.
• Working with 3D models and 2D drawings and integrating health, safety, and environmental considerations.

If you value teamwork, empowerment in your career, and are eager to champion innovative and sustainable solutions to our clients, this opportunity just may be for you!Job DescriptionAs an Architect III you will be:Developing and reviewing project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects.Developing and reviewing project specifications, building design criteria, building code analysis, life safety plans, building drawing packages, etc.Coordinating building design of industrial buildings and equipment enclosures for heavy industrial projects including green field and revamp projects in petrochemical, advanced technology, and metals facilities.Collaborating with other engineering disciplines, client representatives, vendors, and subcontractors to progress and complete designs of various industrial buildings.Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop/deliver cost effective and constructible designs.Working with 3D structural models in a comprehensive 3D environment.Checking 2D design drawings and 3D models.Incorporating health, safety, and environmental factors in designApply cost competitive execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for the discipline engineering workParticipating in estimating, procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.Completing other tasks as assigned.Basic Job RequirementsArchitectural degree (e.g. BSc in Architecture) from an accredited university program.Currently registered with Alberta Architects Association (AAA), or able to register with AAA in the future.Ideal candidate will have a minimum 6 years experience designing medium to heavy industrial buildings using Canadian design codes.Have a thorough understanding of Canadian building codes, governing regulations, and industry practices.Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials, and means and methods of building construction.Proficiency with Microstation and/or AutoCAD is required.Experience with Revit BIM is an asset.Experience working in revamp projects is an asset.Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.Driven to independently complete assigned tasks in a time-effective manner.Note: If the successful applicant is a registered architect licensed with the AAA, the individual will be employed by Fluor Canada Ltd. and be seconded to Fluor Architecture Canada Ltd. for the specific architectural scopes they are performing.Other Job RequirementsPreferred QualificationsFluor Canada rewards hard work, knowledge, and commitment.
