Your opportunity

Dillon’s Atmospheric Services discipline seeks an Intermediate Air Quality Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team. You will enhance Dillon’s air quality presence in Ontario, delivering projects, engaging clients, and building a collaborative team within our Atmospheric Services group.

This position is available at any of our Ontario offices : Toronto, North York, Ottawa, Guelph, Kitchener, Chatham, Hamilton, Kingston, London, Oakville, Windsor.

Responsibilities

Project Management & Design

  • Manage air quality projects across various sectors including oil and gas, power generation, industrial, municipal, and transportation.
  • Support junior staff technically on monitoring, modelling, abatement strategies, and liaising with regulators.
  • Oversee and review regulatory projects such as ECAs, EASRs, and EAs.

Business Development

  • Coordinate and implement business development activities, including opportunity identification, proposals, and client relations.
  • Collaborate with client managers and sales teams to pursue air quality opportunities.
  • Business travel may be required.

Learning & Development

  • Commit to ongoing professional development.
  • Mentor and support the career growth of junior staff.
  • Participate in professional associations and committees to enhance Dillon’s profile.

Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Degree in environmental, chemical engineering, or related field.
  • P.Eng. designation with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • 5+ years in environmental consulting or related air quality experience.
  • Strong relationships with local regulators, such as MECP.

Additional Experience

  • Experience with emission inventories, estimates, dispersion modelling (AERMOD, CALPUFF, CALRoads), and regulatory reporting.
  • Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal air quality laws and regulations.
  • Experience preparing emission summaries and air impact assessments.
  • Familiarity with NPRI and GHG reporting programs.
  • Leadership in project teamwork and client relationship building.
  • Ability to work independently in a solution-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with GHG quantification and reporting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of MECP's D-series Guidelines is an asset.
