Job summary

BDO Canada LLP in Toronto is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our Canadian Tax Services team. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing tax returns for personal, corporate, and trust matters, and researching tax positions with risk analysis.

You will engage with tax authorities on audits and contribute to tax accruals and planning. The candidate should be pursuing the CPA designation and have 2 years of public accounting experience, with solid communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in public accounting.
• Familiarity with relevant tax legislation, corporate, personal, and trust tax compliance. Tax planning experience is an asset.
• Strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for clients to capitalize on business opportunities

• Prepare or review personal, corporate, and trust income tax returns, along with other tax information forms
• Research tax issues and prepare memoranda or client letters and reports
• Deal with tax authorities on tax audits and appeals

Your experience and education

• You are pursuing your CPA designation
• You have 2 years of experience in public accounting

• The expected salary range for this role is $55,000 - $67,000 annually
