Job summary

Aviva Canada is seeking Healthcare Service Advisors to join the Healthcare Services team to ensure timely and equitable resolution of Accident Benefits claims. You will interpret insurance contracts, handle claims within your authority, and educate insureds and providers on changes and the Aviva Premiere Healthcare network.

Ideal candidates have a college diploma or higher, 2+ years in Accident Benefits claims, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• College Diploma/Associate Degree or similar experience.
• 2+ years of Accident Benefits insurance claims handling experience.
• Large Loss experience preferred.
• Post-secondary Education in related field.
• CIP or working towards CIP licensing.
• Excellent customer services skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to a fast paced environment.
• Good organization skills.
• Ability to adapt and work within various computer programs, databases and software.

Responsibilities

• Interpret insurance contracts, resolve policy coverages, establish and adjust reserves per guidelines.
• Handle Accident Benefits claims within your authority and expertise.
• Obtain investigative reports, IMEs, statements from insureds/witnesses, and other specialists as needed.
• Educate customers and providers on auto reform changes.
• Ensure all aspects of the claim process meet guidelines.
• Assist in resolving claims issues related to interpretations and settlements.
• Ensure service levels and quality standards are met by approved specialists.
• Educate insureds about Premiere Healthcare network.
• Attend and participate in training and file clinic sessions.

We’re looking for Healthcare Service Advisors to join our Healthcare Services team to ensure timely and equitable resolution of sophisticated Accident Benefit claims.

What you’ll do

• Interpret insurance contracts, resolve policy coverages, establish and adjust reserves in accordance with corporate guidelines
• To appropriately handle Accident Benefits claims according to individual authority, knowledge and expertise
• Acquire investigative reports, independent medical examination where appropriate, statements from insured’s/witnesses and other specialists as required
• Educate customers and providers of any new auto reform changes
• Ensure all aspects of the claim process are handled optimally and within company guidelines
• Assist in resolving claims issues with respect to interpretations, as they relate to the legislation and settlement negotiations
• Ensure service levels and quality standards are met by approved specialists
• Educate our insureds about Premiere Healthcare network
• Attend and actively participate in training and file clinic sessions

What you’ll bring

The salary band for this position ranges from $60,000 – $75,000.
