Job summary

StructureCraft Abbotsford, BC, is seeking an Intermediate 3D Designer to join our team. You will translate architectural information into 3D models, shop drawings, and CNC files for fabrication and erection of large timber projects across North America.

The role requires at least 3 years of design/drafting experience, a 2-year engineering design & drafting education, strong Rhino and BIM skills, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 2-year college program in engineering design and drafting technology.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in 3D design/drafting.
• Knowledge of drafting standards and principles.
• Strong spatial reasoning and geometry skills.
• Proficiency in Rhino and BIM software (Revit/TEKLA/Bluebeam).
• Knowledge of timber and steel design & detailing.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• 3D modeling from concept through fabrication, assemblies and installation.
• Design for fabrication and prototyping with shop floor interaction.
• Create fabrication drawings and CNC files.
• Coordinate design information with engineers, contractors and external teams.
• Produce detailed drawings for approval and production.
• Maintain and grow construction industry technical knowledge.
