About the Company

Our client, a successful Architecture, Design and Planning firm with a studio in Edmonton, is currently looking to add a dynamic Interior Designer to their team. This firm is known for their creative, collaborative, and conscientious design and has an impressive portfolio of work across Western Canada.

The Job

The Interior Designer will provide planning services to ensure optimal use of space and develop occupancy and logistical options to meet client needs. They will work both independently and in teams to develop design concepts, plans, and forecasts considering factors such as cost, budget, timelines, context, and location. Projects will include commercial, mixed-use, community, civic, and public spaces.

This role involves working independently within a mid-sized team and taking responsibility for all project aspects, including conceptual design, development, coordination, production, contract administration, and project management. Technical responsibilities include rendering design ideas using Revit, CAD, and other software, creating 3D renderings, working drawings, plans, models, and schemes. Senior or intermediate level staff will collaborate with principals and liaise with clients to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Interior Design
• 2 to 12 years of industry experience, including experience with various project types and larger projects
• Knowledge of building issues, safety codes, materials, ergonomics, and industry standards
• Creative, outgoing, and committed attitude with excellent communication skills
• Ability to be physically present in Edmonton
