Job summary

Pembina Hills School Division is seeking an Interim Full Time Math Teacher for Vista Virtual School. The assignment runs from as soon as possible until June 29, 2027, with duties in a Pembina Hills Community School or Vista Virtual Calgary office.

The successful candidate will hold an Alberta teaching certificate, be proficient with educational technology, and apply assessment for learning to individualized instruction in a distance-education context. Moodle experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Understanding and application of assessment for learning as demonstrated by individualized instruction.

Responsibilities

• Teach to the Alberta Curriculum and address a wide range of student needs in distance education.
• Maintain close contact with students, parents and other stakeholders.
• Monitor, guide and support students in their progress.
• Be a strong team member but able to work independently.
• Be committed to a learner-centered philosophy.
• Travel within Alberta to work with students and parents as needed.
• Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Moodle and distance learning environments.

Vista Virtual School requires an Interim Full Time (1.0 FTE) Math Teacher. Duties are to commence as soon as possible and will end June 29, 2027.

Note: This is not a telecommuting position. The location of this assignment will be in a designated workspace within a Pembina Hills Community School or at the Vista Virtual Calgary office.

Vista Virtual School is an accredited public elementary, junior high and senior high school (including adult education and upgrading) that serves residents of Alberta.
