Base pay range

CA$50.00/hr - CA$55.00/hr

The Opportunity:

Our client, a respected organization in the association/members-based industry, is seeking a Financial Analyst for an initial 6-month contract with the potential for extension. In this pivotal role, you’ll play a key part in preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing the budgeting process, and supporting internal and external stakeholders. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a well-established, not-for-profit entity with a clear public mission.

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this role, you will:

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for both the organization and its subsidiary.
• Analyze accounts and ensure completeness, accuracy, and adequate supporting documentation.
• Lead the development of the annual corporate budget in collaboration with department heads and executives.
• Present financial reports to management and provide data-driven insights to support decision-making.
• Manage the full accounts payable process alongside the Finance Administrator.
• Support internal controls and ensure compliance, including evidence documentation.
• Coordinate and facilitate external audits (interim and annual).
• Assist with risk assessment and compliance reporting for the Audit Committee.
• Timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and quarterly reports.
• A well-coordinated and supported audit process.
• A comprehensive, collaborative annual budgeting cycle.
• Strengthened internal controls and documentation.
• Clear communication and partnership with internal departments and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

• A university degree in business, commerce, or accounting.
• A professional accounting designation (CPA, CA; CPA, CGA; or CPA, CMA) is preferred but not mandatory.
• At least 5 years of post-designation experience in accounting and financial analysis.
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct is a strong asset.
• Strong critical thinking, planning, and organizational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to work in-office in Toronto 3 days per week (Mondays, Wednesdays, and one other day of your choice).
