The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing financial and analytical support with a focus on preparation of management reports, analysis, and year-end reporting system activities for the legal departments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare, analyze and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting & KPIs for internal stakeholders
• Support the month-end and year-end processes
• Prepare year-end audit schedules and liaise with auditors as required
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting and analysis as requested
• Maintain and improve financial reporting tools, dashboards and templates using strong controls to ensure accurate reporting
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy for reporting and business processes
• Ensure data integrity on multiple reporting platforms, dashboards with respect to management reporting
• Support special system and cross-functional projects
• Support financial presentations and supporting analysis on financial reports
• Support year end closing process by preparing supporting items, documentation and analysis
• Act as secondary support for general accounting, banking, wire review & approval
• Prepare and maintain process documentation for all related functions
• May perform other duties as assigned within the nature and level of the job

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal skills including communication and collaboration
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail, and use of error-detection methods
• Moderate skills with building and maintaining financial models and charts
• Ability to understand, interpret and communicate data to stakeholders
• Ability to self-manage, prioritize and manage multiple deliverables

Knowledge and Experience:

• 0-3 years of experience in accounting/budgeting/forecasting/analytical & reporting
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), or working towards designation is preferred
• Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point
• SQL, PowerBI, Power Query experience is an asset
• Knowledge of Aderant (CMS) accounting system is an asset
