Job summary

IFG - International Financial Group in Mississauga is seeking an Interim Corporate Controller to lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes, oversee multi-entity accounting, and guide a finance team within an ASPE environment.

You will partner with external auditors and tax advisors, drive process improvements, and provide strategic financial guidance across the organization. This contract role is 15–18 months with hybrid work (3 days in office).

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Solid ASPE knowledge.
• Experience working within a multi-entity organization; multinational exposure is an asset.
• Good general understanding of corporate tax and statutory reporting.
• Proven ability to operate as both a hands-on contributor and people leader.
• Strong month-end and year-end close experience.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong systems and Excel skills; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting and reporting processes.
• Oversee operational accounting, financial reporting, statutory reporting, audit and tax-related activities.

• Review journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements and supporting schedules.

• Oversee accounting across multiple wholly owned legal entities.

We are currently partnering with a well-established organization to hire an experienced Interim Corporate Controller for a long-term contract opportunity.

Hybrid: 3 days per week in office

Contract: Approximately 15–18 months

This is a hands-on doer/reviewer leadership role for a strong accounting professional who can manage the month-end, quarter-end and year-end accounting and reporting processes while providing leadership to an established finance team.
