Job summary

The Mirillion Group is seeking a full-time Controller to lead financial control, budgeting, reporting, tax compliance, and finance transformation across its Canadian entities, while overseeing payroll and HR programs.

The Controller will report to Canadian leadership and international finance leadership, with shared-services support to an affiliated business unit as it scales its financial processes.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required with proven Canadian accounting knowledge.
• Strong communication and leadership across teams and stakeholders.
• 2–3 years of experience as Controller or Director of Finance.

Responsibilities

• Govern financial controls and ensure compliance with policy and Canadian rules
• Lead budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and executive presentations
• Report on financial performance and monitor spend
• Coordinate management, intercompany, and capital expenditure reporting
• Collaborate with stakeholders to assess financial risk
• Oversee accounts payable, approvals, and payment runs
• Review cash flow, funding requests, credit facilities
• Coordinate tax compliance and planning (HST, withholding, corporate filings, audits)
• Advise on loans, equity, and joint-venture structures; drive finance transformation

Job Summary

We're seeking a full-time Controller to lead financial control, budget planning and management, reporting, tax compliance, and finance transformation across the organization's Canadian entities, while overseeing payroll and HR programs and advising on financial performance.

The Controller will report directly to Canadian leadership and international finance leadership, with additional shared-services support to an affiliated business unit as it scales its financial processes.

Responsibilities

• Govern financial controls, internal procedures, and compliance with corporate policy and Canadian statutory requirements
• Lead budgets, forecasts, budget-versus-actual reporting, and executive presentations
• Report on financial performance, monitoring and controlling spend
• Coordinate preparation of management, intercompany, and capital expenditure reporting
• Liaise with business and corporate stakeholders to assess and minimize financial risk
• Oversee accounts payable, purchase approvals, payment runs, and accounting systems
• Review cash flow, project funding requests, credit facilities, and financing requirements
• Coordinate tax compliance and planning, including HST, non-resident withholding, corporate tax filings, and tax audits
• Advise on loan, equity, and joint-venture structures, and drive finance transformation initiatives
• Manage finance staff, payroll, and HR programs and processes

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Qualified CPA
• Strong communicator with cultural awareness and a can-do attitude
• 2-3 years of experience as a Controller or Director of Finance
• Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting, tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements (ASPE and IFRS)
• Digital mindset with a passion for leveraging technology to improve finance processes
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills across local and international teams
