The Instrumentation and Control Systems group is a dynamic team in which engineering, design, and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. In addition to a solid education focusing on engineering, a strong set of personal competencies is a prerequisite for success. Being a team player and having an ability to interact effectively with client organizations, other disciplines, vendors, and contractors in our taskforce is essential.

Position Responsibilities:

  1. Lead engineer or area lead engineer for feasibility studies and EPCM mineral processing projects of significant scale
  2. Translate global strategic initiatives into procedures to be implemented on projects
  3. Apply cost competitive execution techniques to develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work
  4. Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects
  5. Instrumentation and control systems engineering execution including supervision, planning, organization, and interfacing of vendor systems and equipment
  6. Engineering design and deliverables for project phases including conceptual design, prefeasibility, feasibility, front-end design engineering and detailed engineering
  7. Development of P&ID’s, instrument index, datasheets and specifications, block layout diagrams, cable schedules, panel layouts, instrument location details, loop and wiring diagrams, installation details, control interfacing of electrical MCC’s, inter-discipline reviews, vendor package interfacing, plant control system design, and communications infrastructure
  8. Instrumentation and control systems specifications in accordance with client requirements and project design requirements
  9. Procurement packages and technical evaluations
  10. Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including manpower forecasts
  11. Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
  12. Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors in design
  13. Develop and update job execution plans
  14. Develop and build external relations with client representatives, vendors, and subcontractors and interface closely with other discipline functions promoting Client Service Excellence
  15. Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
  16. Construction installation scopes of work
  17. Participation in HAZOP reviews
  18. Participation in factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT)
  19. Site construction, engineering, and commissioning support Document redlining and turnover packages
  20. Preparation of schedules, estimates, and manpower forecasts Change management
  21. Communication and alignment with clients, vendors, and other disciplines
  22. Supervision and mentoring of junior and intermediate level engineers and designers
  23. Promotion and support of value improvement initiatives and continuous performance improvement objectives
  24. Other duties as assigned

Able to work in the office where the role is to be carried out (Note: a hybrid office/ Remote schedule may be possible for this position depending on the specific Project)
