The Instrumentation and Control Systems group is a dynamic team where engineering, design, and leadership skills are combined to effectively support our clients. Success requires a solid education in engineering and strong personal competencies. Being a team player and interacting effectively with client organizations, other disciplines, vendors, and contractors is essential.

The Instrumentation and Control Systems Engineering Lead is responsible for instrumentation and control systems engineering and design development within the mineral processing industry. This role involves acting as a project lead engineer, overseeing discipline engineers and designers.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  1. Leading engineer or area lead engineer for feasibility studies and EPCM mineral processing projects of significant scale
  2. Translating global strategic initiatives into procedures for project implementation
  3. Applying cost-effective execution techniques to develop optimal project solutions
  4. Developing and reviewing project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and baseline documents
  5. Supervising instrumentation and control systems engineering execution, including vendor interfacing
  6. Designing and delivering project phases: conceptual, prefeasibility, feasibility, front-end, and detailed engineering
  7. Developing P&ID diagrams, instrument datasheets, specifications, layouts, wiring diagrams, and control interfacing
  8. Specifying instrumentation and control systems according to client and project requirements
  9. Managing procurement packages and technical evaluations
  10. Estimating costs and schedules, tracking progress, and forecasting manpower needs
  11. Monitoring material quantities and providing analysis
  12. Incorporating health, safety, and environmental factors into design
  13. Developing job execution plans and managing external relations with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
  14. Participating in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities
  15. Supporting construction, installation, and commissioning activities, including document redlining and turnover
  16. Preparing schedules, estimates, and manpower forecasts, and managing change
  17. Communicating and aligning with clients, vendors, and other disciplines
  18. Supervising and mentoring junior engineers and designers
  19. Promoting value improvement initiatives and continuous performance improvement
  20. Performing other duties as assigned

This role requires the ability to work in an office environment, with potential for hybrid remote scheduling depending on the project.
