Job summary

Northern Lakes College in Fairview is seeking a permanent full-time Instructor, Welder to plan, prepare, and deliver instruction for apprenticeship, pre-employment and dual credit programs. This role includes both classroom and lab instruction and collaboration with industry partners.

Reporting to the Chair, Trades & Resource Technology, you will assess learners, track progress, and liaise with community, government and industry representatives.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to teach welding at an apprenticeship level.
• Experience with lab and classroom instruction.
• Transcripts and clean Criminal Record Check required.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in a classroom/lab setting
• Foster and maintain a positive and effective learning environment
• Plan and prepare for instruction, including program development
• Delivery of instruction, addressing various learning styles and needs
• Evaluate and report on student progress
• Work with other College departments to facilitate learner success
• Monitor classroom supplies and tools inventory
• Track student attendance & interventions
• Submit reports and forms as required
• Maintain confidentiality and security of student information
• Liaison with industry, government, and community representatives as required
• Assist with purchasing materials and supplies
• Supportive of College and department vision and direction
• Enjoys working in a team environment and collaborating with others

Nature and Scope of Work:Reporting to the Chair, Trades & Resource Technology, this position is responsible for planning, preparing, and delivery of instruction and evaluation of learners for apprenticeship, pre-employment, and dual credit programming. Both theory and lab instruction will be offered via face-to-face delivery. This position also includes liaising with community, government and industry representatives and working with other College departments as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
