Job summary

Saskatchewan Health Authority in Saskatoon is seeking a full-time temporary Medical Laboratory Technology educator to design, update and deliver courses and lab materials for the Medical Laboratory Science program.

You will supervise students in classrooms, labs and clinical settings, assess progress, and counsel applicants about the program and career opportunities; travel is possible within the campus network, and the role aligns with the academic grid.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology is required.
  • Ability to design, update and construct educational courses and lab aids.
  • Experience engaging students and assessing progress in classroom, clinical, and lab settings.

Responsibilities

  • Select, design, update and construct educational courses and lab aids/materials.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations for educational purposes in all disciplines of Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Supervise students in classroom, clinical, labs, tours, etc. It may involve travel.
  • Evaluate students through the use of exams, assignments and observations and to record student progress.
  • Counsel students and prospective students on matters pertaining to the program and job opportunities.

Job Description:
  • Select, design, update and construct educational courses and lab aids/materials.

Education

Degree or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology

Licenses

Active registration and current licensure with the applicable national and/or provincial regulatory body.

Other Education and Training

Minimum of two years of recent, relevant experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or in a related field in a Canadian laboratory, including clinical laboratory.
