• Ensure equipment is stored safely after each class and the work environment is kept clean and safe.
• Attend scheduled in-service training to stay current.

Instructor III - Aquafit Instructor

Saanich Commonwealth Place is seeking enthusiastic and certified Instructor III - Aquafit Instructors to deliver safe, engaging, and well-organized aquatic fitness programs. This role is ideal for instructors who enjoy motivating participants, creating a welcoming recreation environment, and delivering high-quality instruction while supporting participant safety and enjoyment. Under the general direction of a Recreation Programmer or Program Technician, the Instructor III - Aquafit Instructor provides direct instruction, leadership, and program management for Aquafit classes. Responsibilities include preparing the program area and equipment, developing class content, delivering instruction in a safe and organized manner, welcoming and providing feedback to participants, maintaining accurate attendance records and reports, ensuring equipment is safely stored following each class, maintaining a safe and clean work environment, and attending scheduled in-service training. Requirements include completion of Grade 10, a minimum of three months of experience in the area of instruction, and current certification and training in Aquafit instruction in accordance with industry standards. Emergency First Aid and CPR-C are required as applicable to the assignment. Employment is subject to provision of a satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than six months, with renewal required as per policy. The successful candidates will work casual shifts during weekday daytime and evening hours. Hours and shifts are subject to change.
