Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking an Instructor for ICT Continuing Education on a contract basis for ORTN 190—Introduction to Library Service at the Saskatoon campus. You will engage learners, grade assignments, monitor progress, and manage exams, delivering official grades as required.

The role requires MLIS or Library & Information Technology diploma with relevant experience, plus strong computer skills for online facilitation and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) from an ALA accredited institution or equivalent; OR Library & Information Technology Diploma with major related experience to be taught.
• Two years recent/relevant work experience (2 years in the last 5 years) in library environment in the specialty area to be taught.
• Strong computer skills are required for online facilitation.
• Demonstrated proficiency and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
• Effective instructional ability.
• Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
• Demonstrates valuing diversity.
