Job summary

Langara College’s Criminal Justice Department seeks qualified candidates for a part-time temporary Spring 2027 position to teach Criminal Law (CRIM 1216). The role is for one course on Fridays from 12:30 to 15:20, with a start date of Jan 1, 2027 and end date Apr 30, 2027.

Applicants must hold a Canadian LLB or JD and have post-secondary teaching experience. Excellent English communication and a strong commitment to teaching and student success are essential.

Qualifications

• Canadian LLB or JD with experience in criminal law.
• Post-secondary teaching experience.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and supporting students throughout their studies.
• Ability and willingness to contribute in department meetings and initiatives.
• Preference for applicants who recently taught Criminal Law (CRIM 1216) or have graduate coursework in the area.

Responsibilities

• Maintain currency and excellence in instructional practices and approaches.
• Stay current in subject areas including global/local trends and opportunities.
• Ensure effective use of available class time and maintain office hours for student consultation.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships.
• Integrate students and learning into organizations and/or the community when appropriate.
• Participate in program design and review as needed.
• Be a positive contributor to initiatives within the Criminal Justice Department and College.

Job Summary

The Criminal Justice department is seeking qualified candidates to fill a part-time temporary position for the Spring 2027 semester. There is 1 course available to teach: Criminal Law (CRIM 1216) on Friday from 1230-1520

Required Qualifications
