If you are an experienced, results-oriented oncology nurse seeking an opportunity to influence oncology practice and education across Alberta, this position may be for you. As a casual Educator/Coordinator for Adult Oncology, you will play a key role in advancing the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the Oncology Practice Readiness Education Program (O-PREP). Working in close collaboration with Cancer Care Alberta and provincial clinical leaders, you will support the delivery of high-quality, standardized oncology education that promotes safe, evidence-informed, person-centered care and enhances readiness for practice among nurses and allied health professionals across the province. Reporting to the Director, Clinical Education Transition within the Associate Chief Nursing Office (ACNO), this provincial position uses advanced oncology nursing expertise, adult learning principles, and change management strategies to support competency development, professional growth, and practice excellence across oncology settings. The role promotes oncology standards and competencies and supports implementation of new practices, policies, technologies, and quality improvement initiatives through education and change management. The position evaluates learner achievement and program effectiveness, analyzes educational data, monitors outcomes, recommends improvements, and supports accreditation, patient safety, and continuous quality improvement. The incumbent demonstrates leadership through evidence-informed practice, safety, equity, person-centered care, and current knowledge of oncology practice, emerging therapies, adult education, and CANO/ACIO standards.

Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team. You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program.Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduate degree in Nursing or Education. Canadian Nursing Association (CNA) certification, Certified Oncology Nurse CON(C). Minimum 5 years of experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator in an oncology setting. Wide scope of experience in the delivery of clinical education.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of technology-enabled education development and implementation. Practical experience of education program implementation. Experience collecting and analyzing evaluation data. Change management experience or expertise.
