Job summary

CapWest is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to install, configure, and support GreyOwl.ai hardware and software at client sites across North America. You will run low-voltage cabling, fiber optics, and structured installations, ensuring secure network integration and reliable AI-driven solutions.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in field service or technical support, plus CCNA/Network+ or equivalent certs. Travel to client sites and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in field service, low-voltage installation, or technical support.
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage cabling, fiber optics, and structured cabling installations.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Low-voltage certifications (BICSI, FOA) and CCNA/CompTIA Network+.
  • Must have: valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
  • Ability to lift and travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure GreyOwl.ai hardware and software in client environments.
  • Run, terminate, and test low-voltage and fiber cabling; set up security and AI-powered devices.
  • Configure network devices, IP addressing, VLANs, and secure connectivity.
  • Provide on-site and remote support; diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Maintain installation records, diagrams, and configuration documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales teams; train end users.

Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Installation & Deployment: Install and configure GreyOwl.ai’s hardware and software solutions, ensuring seamless operation in client environments. Set up, test, and troubleshoot AI-driven devices, sensors, servers, and networking components to ensure full functionality. Assemble, mount, and securely install cameras, IoT sensors, access control systems, and smart monitoring devices as per project specifications.
  • Cabling & Infrastructure: Run, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, coax, etc.) for networking and data systems. Install, terminate, and troubleshoot fiber optic cabling, including splicing and connectorization as required. Perform structured cabling installations, including racks, patch panels, and cable management for efficient and scalable network deployments. Conduct cable labeling, dressing, and testing to ensure proper signal integrity and compliance with industry standards. Assist in power distribution setup, ensuring safe and efficient wiring for AI-powered systems.
  • Networking & System Integration: Configure network devices, routers, switches, and access points, ensuring secure and stable connectivity. Ensure proper IP addressing, VLAN configurations, and network security best practices. Integrate AI-driven analytics software, cloud-based applications, and edge computing solutions with existing client infrastructure.
  • Testing, Troubleshooting & Support: Perform system diagnostics, connectivity tests, and troubleshooting to resolve installation or performance issues. Work with customers to fine-tune AI systems, ensuring optimal operation based on site-specific requirements. Provide technical support and guidance to clients, both on-site and remotely, ensuring they can operate systems effectively.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate installation records, as-built diagrams, and configuration documentation for internal and client reference. Ensure all installations meet safety, industry, and client-specific regulations. Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and recommend installation strategies based on site conditions.
  • Collaboration & Training: Work closely with engineering, project management, and sales teams to ensure successful deployments. Train end users and clients on system operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Experience: 2+ years in a field service, low-voltage installation, or technical support role.
  • Technical Background: Strong knowledge of low-voltage cabling, fiber optics, and structured cabling installations. Experience with networking (routers, switches, wireless access points, IP configurations, VLANs). Familiarity with IoT devices, security systems, AI-driven technology, and cloud platforms.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Low-voltage certifications (BICSI, FOA, etc.). Fiber optic splicing/certification. Networking (CCNA, CompTIA Network+).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and install equipment, work in various environments, and travel to client sites.
  • Must Have: A valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
