Job summary

Metergy is seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead submetering installations in Toronto, Ontario. You will coordinate design, scheduling, installation and commissioning across multiple projects, interfacing with contractors, vendors and clients to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires 3+ years in electrical/metering, strong planning and communication skills, and familiarity with Canadian regulatory standards. A valid Ontario driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Mechanical engineering or technologist diploma.
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical/meters.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in high-rise/multi-residential settings.
  • Familiarity with regulatory bodies: Measurement Canada, Electrical Safety Authority, TSSA.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and coordinate stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, analytical, organizing and communication skills.
  • Adaptability to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Solid health and safety understanding on construction sites, especially electrical equipment.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence (G).
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute multiple submetering projects from start to finish, coordinating design, resources, installation and commissioning.
  • Monitor project budgets and adjust as needed with Revenue Assurance and Sales.
  • Communicate project status, risks and milestones to stakeholders; conduct regular site visits.
  • Continuously improve project management processes and measure effectiveness.
  • Manage commissioning for electrical/mechanical metering installations in new builds and retrofit environments.
  • Provide technical analysis of drawings to support contractors and internal staff.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations across all projects.
  • Deliver strong customer service and effective project organization and issue resolution.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports and timelines tracking milestones.
  • Provide technical evaluation for metering opportunities identified by Sales.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met for each installation.
  • Perform other installation support tasks as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Planning and executing multiple submetering projects from start to completion, including, design coordination, resource scheduling, managing meter installation and commissioning, and material planning. This includes coordinating with internal and external stakeholder such as contractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Monitoring project budgets throughout construction to ensure completion within budget constraints. Identifying projects trending over-budget and coordinating with Revenue Assurance and Sales teams for necessary adjustments. This includes developing cost estimates, monitoring expenses and implementing cost control measures where necessary.
  • Communicating project status, issues, and risks to internal and external stakeholders. Conducting project meetings and managing project documentation. Including frequent site visits to support necessary project progress.
  • Continuously improving project management processes and practices. Includes identifying areas of improvement, developing, and implementing process improvement, and measuring and evaluating effectiveness of project manager processes.
  • Manage commissioning for multiple electrical/mechanical metering installations in both new construction and retrofit environment(s).
  • Provide technical analysis of drawings and or electrical/mechanical systems to help support various contractors and internal staff on the installation.
  • Ensure all projects comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Manage installation projects by demonstrating excellent customer service, organization, issue analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, project timelines that track individual project milestones and deliverables.
  • Provide technical evaluation for metering opportunities identified by the Sales department.
  • Ensure all regulatory requirements are met and completed for each installation project.
  • Any other tasks in support of installation projects as necessary.
Requirements
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree, or a Technologist Diploma within Electrical / Mechanical
  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience in the electrical and/or metering field
  • Working knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems, including electricity distribution, DCW and DHW systems, fan coil / heat pump systems all in high rise / multi-residential settings.
  • Familiarity with regulatory within: Measurement Canada, Electrical Safety Authority, TSSA (Technical Standard & Safety Authority)
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Demonstrate excellent planning, analytical, organizing and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast paced environment
  • A strong understanding of health and safety on construction site(s) and in particular around electrical equipment.
  • Have a valid Ontario Driver's License (G)
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Health and Safety Act
