Job summary

Wajax in Canada seeks a skilled installer for crane and utility equipment. The role centers on safe, efficient assembly, electrical wiring, hydraulics, testing, and pre-delivery preparation.

The position includes mentoring fellow Installers and strict adherence to Health & Safety rules. A High school diploma and Crane Utility Fleet license are required, with 1–7 years of related experience depending on level.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Experience with welding and fabrication.
• Crane Utility Fleet license required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install electrical components, wiring, power boards, throttles and controls and test systems.
• Oversee and mentor other Installers within a team.
• Perform hydraulic system assembly, PTO/pump installations, and test hydraulics.
• Prepare units for pre-delivery inspections and ship components as needed.
• Adhere to Health & Safety policies and company procedures.

Job description

The Role

• Responsibilities will vary depending on level attained (A, B, C or D).
• Responsible for assembly of new or rebuilt crane and or utility equipment sold by Wajax Industries in a safe, efficient and capable manner.
• Is familiar with all crane and utility equipment the company represents and that he is required to assemble.
• Responsible to oversee and works closely with other Installers in a mentorship capacity.
• Is familiar with company policy and procedures and abides by them consistently
• Is responsible for install of all electrical components, wiring, assemble of electrical power boards, throttles and controls, test and trouble shoot
• Perform assembly of all hydraulic systems required for unit, including, PTO and pump installations, plumb entire truck, minor electrical, minor welding and fabrication, test and trouble shoot hydraulics, install sub frame, device, body onto unit.
• Assembly of bolt on items, drilling, basic electrical, basic hydraulics, decaling unit, prepare units for pre-delivery inspections.
• Assemble bolt on parts, prepare parts for install group, shipping and receiving
• Participate in all required Health & Safety Training.
• Comply with the Health & Safety program and practices.
• Performance of daily duties in a manner conducive to a safe workplace

The Candidate

Education: High school diploma and Crane Utility Fleet license

Work Experience: 1-2 years (D); 2-3 years (C); 4-5 years (B); 5-7 years (A)

Knowledge: working knowledge of hydraulics; specialized in electrical systems; experience with welding/fabrication

Compensation

Base pay $30-$36 per hour. Pay may vary based on skills, expertise, and performance, and is a component of the total rewards package.
