Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education is required.
• Focus on Elementary Level Education is preferred.
• Teacher Regulation Branch Certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year teaching experience.
• Experience working with Indigenous communities.
• Strength-based and trauma-informed practice training.
• Ability to use a SMART board and related technologies.
• Proficiency with Windows-based applications (Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and provide instruction according to the BC curriculum.
• Utilize BC curriculum and Indigenous ways of knowing.
• Develop lesson plans that scaffold for diverse needs.
• Maintain attendance and communicate progress with families.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support school goals.
• Maintain confidential student files and manage parent communications.
