Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a dedicated Utilities Inspector to join our infrastructure construction supervision team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring site activities related to wet and dry utility networks to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
What You’ll Be Doing:Inspect the installation of utilities including water, sewer, stormwater, irrigation, power, telecom, and related infrastructure.
Verify that construction activities comply with the approved IFC drawings, project specifications, and relevant standards.
Monitor excavation, pipe laying, backfilling, chamber construction, and testing activities.
Review method statements and ITPs for utility works, and report on non-conformances when necessary.
Coordinate with contractors and other discipline inspectors to ensure proper site sequencing and avoid service clashes.
Assist the Resident Engineer and discipline engineers in resolving on-site issues.
Maintain accurate records of site inspections, tests, progress, and site activities.
Ensure all works are carried out in line with HSE regulations and report any unsafe practices.
Attend site coordination and progress meetings when required.
Diploma or Technical Certificate in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of experience in utility construction supervision, preferably on large-scale infrastructure projects.
Strong knowledge of installation and testing of wet (potable water, sewerage, stormwater) and dry (electrical, telecom) utility systems.
Familiarity with relevant construction standards, authority regulations, and quality control procedures.
Good communication and report writing skills in English.
Previous experience working on projects in the GCC region.
Familiarity with GIS utility coordination and as-built documentation processes.
Knowledge of local authority requirements and utility coordination procedures.
