Job summary

Masco Canada is seeking an Inspector Technician to perform audits, PPAP evaluations, and quality inspections on components and finished goods at the St. Thomas, ON site in the afternoon shift. You will collaborate with production to resolve quality issues, interpret standards (CSA/IAPMO), and support continuous improvement.

The role requires reading blueprints, BOMs, and working instructions, along with basic gauging and JDE system usage. OSSD or equivalent and a QA program are required.

Qualifications

  • Read blueprints and follow work instructions.
  • Understand Bill of Materials and product specifications.
  • Perform basic analytical / statistical evaluations.
  • Experience with PPAP and quality inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Support Production with quality issues affecting line performance.
  • Perform incoming inspection/audits of components and finished goods.
  • Conduct PPAP evaluations and review documentation for accuracy.
  • Investigate customer complaints/returns and generate reports.
  • Maintain quarantine locations and inventory controls.
  • Calibrate gauges and verify tooling as required.
  • Participate in 2nd/3rd level problem solving.

Inspector Technician at Masco Canada (On-Site – St. Thomas, ON Office – Afternoons)

Pay Range: $29.98 CAD

What You Will Do

Preform the duties as required for conducting audits, sampling incoming and finished goods products as well as conducting full product evaluation on component and finished goods (PPAP) and customer complaints. Support production with day to day issues from a quality perspective.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Support Production immediately with any quality issues that negatively impacts the performance of the line or the quality of the product going to the customer
  • Accurately interpret and understand industry and product standards (CSA / IAPMO)
  • Incoming inspection/auditing of purchased components and finished goods as required
  • Patrol audits and production issues 1st level / step as required and Layered Process Audits (LPA’s)
  • Control / verification / documentation of line rejects and inventory control as required
  • Support Product investigations requests – PIR’s as required
  • Issuance and communication of NCMR’s as required
  • Follow up on open items – inventory releases (R-Loc) and NCMR updates as required
  • Updating of quarantine locations – adding and deleting as required
  • Verification of incoming / requisition material quantities when received in QA as required
  • Conduct PPAP evaluations and review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Evaluate and investigate customer complaints / returns and generate reports
  • Develop, coordinate and train for rework and repair activities
  • Conduct and administer gauge calibrations for hard, variable and personal gauges
  • Participate in 2nd and 3rd level problem solving
  • Perform process verification / qualifications for equipment
  • Evaluate / measure Tooling or Fixtures as required
  • Other duties as required
Quality
  • Follow all area work instructions and procedures in order to ensure quality standards are adhered to
  • Measure product with supplied gauging as outlined in the quality standards
  • Assist operations in the disposition of non-conforming product
  • Follow the control of non-conforming product procedure

  • Ability to use basic hand held measuring equipment, and standard gauging (hard and variable)
  • Ability to conduct basic analytical / statistical evaluations
  • Good math skills
  • Broad knowledge of our products
  • Knowledge of product compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of all quality related requirements for inspection
  • Solid understanding of gauging control, PPAP requirements, and various investigation and problem solving techniques
  • Previous experience in a production environment
  • Successful completion of all applicable pre-employment testing
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Educational Requirements
  • O.S.S.D or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a community college Quality Inspection program
