Job summary

Prysmian Group in Oshawa, Ontario, is hiring an Inside Sales Representative for the Elevator & Escalator Business Unit. You will manage quotes and orders, serve as the primary contact for day-to-day account support, and help drive sales growth while ensuring accurate, timely communication with customers.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales, customer service, or a customer-focused role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and confidence working with business systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a professional and customer-focused approach
  • Demonstrated ability to support sales activity, identify customer needs, and contribute to business growth
  • High attention to detail and comfort managing a fast-paced workload with accuracy and follow-through
  • Technical aptitude and curiosity to learn products, systems, and customer solutions
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer locations, manufacturing sites, and trade shows as required

Responsibilities

  • Build strong customer relationships by proactively supporting retention, identifying sales opportunities, and following up on leads provided by the Sales team
  • Manage the full customer order process from quote to payment, including quoting products, entering orders, following up on outstanding quotes, and sharing technical specifications or drawings as needed
  • Monitor backlog and order activity to support on-time delivery and customer satisfaction, including ship date updates, shipping information, order holds, carrier/freight coordination, intercompany orders, and alternative solutions when delivery issues arise
  • Partner with Sales Managers, Credit and Collections, Operations, Logistics, and other internal teams to keep customer accounts current, resolve account issues, support returns, and communicate pricing updates, forecasts, sales activity, threats, and opportunities
  • Prepare and share customer and internal reports on quote activity, backlog, estimated ship dates, past-due items, stock-out situations, and other key updates
  • Enhance customer experience by promoting adoption of available customer systems, supporting slow-moving product sales, participating in customer meetings, and contributing to team results in a timely manner

Compensation

Prysmian is committed to offering a competitive total rewards package to attract, retain, and motivate our talent. This includes a competitive base salary aligned with the relevant market and results-based variable compensation that rewards performance. Our salary range for this role is $59,000 - $69,000, reflecting the anticipated base salary for a fully qualified candidate at the time of posting. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.

Position Summary

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for managing customer quotes and orders while serving as a key point of contact for day-to-day customer account support within the Elevator and Escalator Business Unit. This role helps build strong customer relationships, supports sales and profitability goals, and ensures timely, accurate communication throughout the customer experience. The role also acts as a subject matter expert on Prysmian products, market needs, customer processes, and internal systems, while contributing to best practices and continuous improvement within the Inside Sales team. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage priorities, respond to urgent needs, and support overall business growth.
