We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative: to develop sales, profitability, and contractual penetration throughout all sites of an agreed geographic territory in Western Canada; to maximize each new account's committed spend potential; to identify, win, and develop profitable business in accordance with the expectations established by the Sales Manager; to develop a thorough understanding of the S.P. Richards organization, its value proposition, and to respect company guidelines and regulations while applying your new business generation skills and talent.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. To consistently achieve monthly revenue and margin targets;
  2. Ensure the retention and growth of existing customer accounts;
  3. Evaluate the needs of each customer, follow up, and propose a product purchase agreement;
  4. Ensure that customers have all necessary and up-to-date documentation (catalog, price list, etc.);
  5. To prospect and develop new business in our existing Office Products channel;
  6. To prospect and develop new business in alternative channels areas outside of our traditional Office products channel (for example: Hardware, Pharmacy, JanSan Dealers, Grocery);
  7. To manage opportunities, negotiations, and oversee implementation of prospected new wins, above a value agreed with the Sales Manager;
  8. To ensure that business opportunities are managed and responded to in a timely and accurate manner;
  9. To plan weekly prospecting activity and anticipate tenders in all geographic locations in Western Canada;
  10. To update E-Prospector database regularly and maintain a prospect database;
  11. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Post-secondary degree in Business or Commerce and/or equivalent working experience (recommended minimum 5 years);
  2. Proven track record of achievement in sales, selling into all levels of corporate accounts dealing with contacts at different levels;
  3. Experience dealing with detailed contractual requirements and reporting within customer portfolios;
  4. Computer proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  5. Ability to analyze and manipulate data (Excel spreadsheets) and extract important details/trends to determine appropriate strategy;
  6. Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of company objectives, group organizational structure, philosophy, sales proposition, systems, and procedures;
  7. Clearly articulate SP Richards' value proposition;
  8. Excellent knowledge of local marketplace and competition in office/facilities supplies sector;
  9. Must have a vehicle license as there is a need to be mobile and work in different locations as required;
  10. Bilingual (English and French), a plus.

  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills;
  6. Ability to plan work in a coordinated and efficient manner so that results are achieved within deadlines, to the required quality standards and cost-effectively;
  7. Proven ability to sell and negotiate at all levels within the company hierarchy, especially at the senior executive level;
  8. Possess a hunting and positive winning attitude.
