Job summary

SE Health is hiring Therapy Assistants to support inpatient care at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital. You will assist Therapists in delivering services, with potential early evening shifts, in a team-based acute care setting.

Candidates should have OTA/PTA diploma and at least 1 year in inpatient care, with BLS, immunization, and background checks current. Join a national social enterprise dedicated to seniors’ health across Canada.

Qualifications

Completed an OTA/PTA Diploma.
Minimum 1 year of inpatient setting experience (inpatient unit preferred).
Knowledge of adaptive equipment, gait aids and wheelchairs.
Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to perform repetitive bending, reaching, pushing, lifting and transferring with proper body mechanics.
BLS certificate.
Criminal background check, Vulnerable sector check and immunization record (current).

Responsibilities

Assist supervising Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist in treatment plans for patients.
Perform prescribed treatments including gait training, balance, transfers, ROM, strengthening and ADL retraining.
Deliver dynamic exercise classes for 1:1 or group sessions.
Set up equipment and clean up after treatments.
Ensure therapy areas are safe and tidy.
Maintain ongoing communication with the Physiotherapist and OT staff.
