Job summary

SE Health is seeking a Therapy Assistant to join the Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital in our Integrated Stroke Unit. You will assist therapists, participate in treatment plans, and help deliver individual and group exercise sessions in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Requirements include an OTA/PTA Diploma, 1 year inpatient experience, BLS, and current immunization and background checks. Competitive total rewards and growth opportunities are offered within a national social enterprise.

Qualifications

• OTA/PTA Diploma completed.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient experience (preferred).
• BLS certificate required.
• Criminal background check, Vulnerable sector check and Immunization record (current).

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist in treatment plans.
• Perform prescribed treatments including gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, ROM, strengthening, ADL retraining and modalities.
• Deliver dynamic exercise classes for 1:1 or groups.
• Set up/prepare equipment and clean up after treatments.
• Ensure therapy gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
• Maintain ongoing communication with therapists about patient status and changes.
