Job summary

Humber River Health in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the Allied Health Services Team on a permanent part-time basis. The role supports Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist in inpatient and occasional medical unit care, with rotating shifts Monday to Friday, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Graduate of PTA/OTA certificate or diploma from a recognized institution.
Able to work under supervision as mandated by regulatory bodies.
Acute hospital experience preferred.
Experience with inpatients is an asset.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Assist Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist with patient treatment on Inpatients within the Surgical Program and some inpatient Medical care.
Assist with patient lifting, transferring and transporting as required.
Provide delegated treatment regimes as assigned.
Prepare patients for treatment and assist therapists.
Maintain timely charting and workload measurement.
Monitor and maintain equipment; assist with general cleaning and equipment upkeep.
Supervise students (OTA/PTA) in collaboration with PT/OT.
