Job summary

Plastic Staffing Inc. is assisting a leading automotive manufacturer in Scarborough to hire a Licensed Tool & Die Maker.

You will build and repair dies, set up tooling from drawings, operate machine tools, and ensure safety and quality. The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of die making experience, understands materials and heat treatment, and can work independently or in a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a tool & Die maker in an automotive environment.
• Proficient use and operation of all Tool room equipment including Grinders.
• Mathematical and Mechanical aptitude.
• Demonstrated organization skills, analytical skills, and problem-solving.
• Able to work well independently and in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Builds new dies and tooling from drawings and specifications by laying out, setting up, machining, fitting, and finishing metal stock and castings.
• Repairs dies and tools used in production as needed.
• Testing repaired dies for proper operation, operating press as required and running test parts.
• Operates a variety of machine tools to cut, mill or grind.
• Verifies conformance of completed dies to specifications by checking dimensions clearances, alignments and finish, consistently working to close tolerances.
• Performs Preventive and Predictive maintenance on tool room equipment
• Responsible to ensure that all safety and quality start up procedures are followed.
• Participates in all areas of lean manufacturing.

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing company is looking for Licensed Tool & Die Maker to join the team.

Location: Scarborough (Markham Rd & Finch Ave E)

CA$40.80–CA$51.00 hourly

Job Responsibilities:

• Builds new dies and tooling from drawings and specifications by laying out, setting up, machining, fitting, and finishing metal stock and castings.
• Repairs dies and tools used in production as needed.
• Testing repaired dies for proper operation, operating press as required and running test parts.
• Operates a variety of machine tools to cut, mill or grind.
