Job summary

GCM Consultants is seeking a Civil/Structural Technical Lead to deliver engineering solutions across energy, mining, manufacturing and construction sectors in Western Canada. You will design steel and concrete structures, supervise drawings, produce calculations, and guide project teams with a practical, constructability-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering required.
• Member of the provincial professional association or eligible for membership.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structures, preferably in the industrial field.

Responsibilities

• Act as a civil/structural technical lead for mandates in energy, mining, manufacturing and construction.
• Participate in regular client meetings and definition of projects.
• Develop concepts in collaboration with client and other disciplines.
• Liaise between client and work team.
• Design steel and concrete structures, mainly in heavy industry.
• Supervise production of drawings and sign/seal them.
• Produce calculation notes, technical documents and drawings.
• Conduct technical studies and participate in design reviews.
• Model structures with SAFI and prepare project cost estimates.
• Coordinate projects with other disciplines and ensure feasibility/constructability.
• Provide technical support on-site.

On a daily basis you will have to:

• Participate in regular meetings with the client.

Requirements:
