Job summary

GCM Consultants is seeking a Civil/Construction engineer to lead project definition and hydraulics-driven infrastructure design. You will perform calculations, sizing, and modeling for sewer networks, prepare plans and specs, and contribute to multi-site project management in Quebec and beyond.

Proactive team player fluent in French; English used occasionally with clients outside Quebec. Hybrid work model offered with offices across Montreal and other cities in Canada.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Civil or Construction Engineering with hydraulics/road focus.
• 5–10 years in infrastructure projects; asset if industrial/commercial.
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
• Proactive, team player, able to communicate with clients.
• Fluent in French; English occasionally for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for project definition and concept development.
• Design (calculation and sizing) of projected infrastructures.
• Conduct analyses and modeling of existing and planned sewer networks.
• Prepare engineering documents (plans and specifications).
• Prepare quantity schedules.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Participate in kick-off meetings with clients.
• Participate in project management both in Quebec and outside the province.

On a daily basis you will have to:

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering with specialization in hydraulics and/or road development.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in infrastructure (relevant experience in the industrial/commercial field is an asset)
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.

• Capacity to be proactive.
• Strong knowledge in hydraulics and in modeling with PCSWMM software.
• Strong knowledge in road development
• Good knowledge of government requirements (REAFIE) and municipal requirements (City of Montreal).
• Capacities demonstrated to quickly converge in problem solving.
• Ability to communicate and work in a team.
• Fluency in French and English required occasionally since the person will collaborate with colleagues and clients outside of Quebec, both written and oral.
