Job summary

The City of Terrace is seeking a qualified engineering professional to review subdivision developments and long-term infrastructure planning, ensuring sustainability of City infrastructure. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will assist in preparation of plans and reports and coordinate with stakeholders to support capital planning.

Responsibilities include reviewing referrals, inspecting construction, preparing plans, liaising with utilities, and addressing public enquiries.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical school diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum three years' related experience; municipal experience is an asset.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications and standards.
• Strong working knowledge of engineering design principles and standards.
• Organized with clear field notes, inspection reports and record drawings.
• Experience with computer modelling and spreadsheets.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Good organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, contractors and the public.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver's Licence.
