Job summary

Onsite Engineering Ltd. in Abbotsford, BC seeks a Civil Engineering Technologist to lead municipal and land development design from planning through commissioning.

You will conduct site surveys, prepare drawings for roads, utilities and site servicing, and support project management in a dynamic team. Prospective candidates should have a Civil Engineering Technology diploma, ASTTBC eligibility, and strong AutoCAD Civil3D/LT skills, with 3–10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology is required or equivalent experience.
• Registered or eligible for ASTTBC as C.Tech. or AScT.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil3D and/or AutoCAD LT.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys using total station and RTK GPS.
• Prepare and coordinate drawings for municipal infrastructure (roads, stormwater, sewer, water, site servicing).
• Prepare project drawings and reports; coordinate with team.
• Perform site and construction inspections.
• Assist in project management and contract administration.

Position Overview:

Reporting Directly to the Manager of our Municipal Engineering Division, through a motivated and dynamic team of professionals located in our Abbotsford Office. The successful Civil Engineering Technologist will be involved in municipal and land development projects and will possess a strong background designing municipal infrastructure. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from the proposal stage through planning, surveying, design, construction, and commissioning of projects.

Major Job Functions:

• Conducting site surveys utilizing total station and RTK GPS equipment.
• Preparing and coordinating engineering drawings for municipal infrastructure projects including roads, stormwater, sanitary sewer, water distribution, and site servicing works.
• Preparing and coordinating project drawings and reports
• Site and construction inspections
• Project management and contract administration

Education and Experience:

• 3-10 years of experience in municipal engineering and land development projects.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
• Registered or eligible for registration with ASTTBC as a C.Tech., AScT,
• Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil3D and/or AutoCAD LT

Salary:

$65,000-$110,000 annually, plus benefits, based on an 80-hour bi-weekly pay period. Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on job-related factors such as engineering experience, certification level (AScT/CTech) and scope of responsibilities.
