Job description

The Information Technology Division of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement (SBP) is seeking an Infrastructure Consultant to join the Information Security Branch (ISB). The role will be based at a Government of Saskatchewan office in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, with an immediate start date following a successful selection.

About the Information Security Branch (ISB)

Within the Information Technology Division (ITD), ISB manages all aspects of IT security, including:

• Interpreting and enforcing information security policies and standards;
• Providing security education and awareness;
• Responding to information security incidents;
• Conducting Threat Risk Assessments (TRA) for government IT initiatives;
• Overseeing security assessments and requirements for IT procurements;
• Providing security advice and guidance to business areas;
• Evaluating new threats and vulnerabilities.

Role Responsibilities

The Infrastructure Consultant will help reduce security risks in critical government information systems during redesign and renewal projects. Key duties include:

• Leading security aspects of the upgrade and renewal of critical information environments;
• Redesigning the GOS-wide wireless network;
• Participating in the redesign of Community Net;
• Participating in the redesign of the DMZ;
• Overseeing the retirement of legacy environments;
• Supporting other security and infrastructure architecture initiatives as assigned.
