- Reporting to the Competency Frameworks Lead, the Senior Project Management Facilitator and Coach will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of complex capital programs. You’ll lead the development of delivery plans, contribute to strategic implementation, and foster high-impact relationships with key stakeholders
- Your expertise will influence resource management and drive operational excellence, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks and commercial best practices. You’ll be accountable for achieving internal and external objectives, delivering measurable improvements in project outcomes and team capability
- Hands-on coaching and mentoring a cohort of Project Managers, Construction Managers, and
- Program Directors to build their project leadership and delivery capabilities
- Acting as a connector between the central learning team, line managers, and senior leadership to align development efforts with organizational goals
- Providing expert guidance across key project management disciplines, including risk management, schedule management, contract management, and other core knowledge areas. This may include facilitating workshops and training aligned with real time project challenges
- In collaboration with our learning team, designing, developing, and delivering engaging training programs that support capability uplift across the capital program delivery division
- Building trusted, supportive relationships with project delivery team members to help them grow their careers in project and construction management and confidence within the organization
- Collaborating across all levels of the business to elevate the overall competency of project delivery teams and ensure consistent, high-quality project outcomes
- Manage and implement the assigned projects from inception through to completion
- Develop new project or program plans and expectations in consultation with and delegating deliverables to stakeholders, including clients
- Determine and manage the human and material resources required to complete assigned projects successfully
- Formulate a resource allocation strategy and utilize this to distribute work and budgets
- Exercise authority in managing the work and control the delivery of the projects per project plans
- Review and ensure adherence to the overall scope, schedule, and budget
- Monitor and report on performance against project requirements, schedule, milestones, budgets, quality measures, and KPIs, and address issues with corrective actions as appropriate to ensure excellence and adherence to specified deadlines
- Evaluate the project's effectiveness by consulting with clients and other stakeholders

- This is a Fixed Term Contract role with strong potential for extension. We welcome both full-time and parttime applicants (minimum 3 days or 24 hours per week)
- Experience:
- Proven experience in large-scale program delivery, ideally in rail or infrastructure projects in Canada. Ideally 15 + years of experience managing complex projects
- Strong coaching/mentoring background
- Ability to relate significant project delivery experience to a specific organizational context and project challenges within the Canadian rail industry.
- Formal coaching experience and credentials preferred
- Ability to operate at a tactical and interpersonal level, directly influencing project outcomes and team development
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Licenses OR Certifications:
- Holding a recognized Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- A calm, solutions-focused mindset with excellent time management skills
- The ability to translate complex project delivery experience into practical, contextualized learning
- Strong understanding of prevailing Project Management methods
- Extensive knowledge of tools and metrics needed to evaluate project performance
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Project Management software
- Must maintain professional development to keep abreast of emerging technologies, methods, and best practices
- Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines with minimum input from leadership
- Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
- Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
- Expert ability to work collaboratively and independently in a structured, disciplined, technology-driven environment
- Proven capacity to anticipate, identify, and minimize risks
- Expert ability to detect, capitalize, and be sensitive to others' strengths
- Demonstrated capability to supervise, delegate, and develop capacity
- Tact to perceive and ameliorate conflict and tension
- Effectively leads multi-resource Project Management teams
- Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment by ensuring effective teamwork, promotion of innovation, and overall excellence
- Demonstrated functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices
- Proven success in providing on-site leadership for the project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
