- Provide project management of feasibility studies, maintenance studies and construction/operations projects
- Provide technical expertise on building- and portfolio-level mechanical systems (Fire protection, emergency generator compliance, Building Automation System replacements, HVAC)
- Provide technical support and QA; recommend improvements, maintenance, or repairs in a relevant, timely, and insightful manner. Contribute to continuous improvement and efficiency
- Liaise between Strategic Engineering Services team, property managers, and contractors
- Engage in the practice of professional engineering which:
- Requires the application of engineering principles
- Is an act of planning, designing, composing, evaluating, advising, reporting, directing or supervising, or managing any of these acts
- Involves the safeguarding of life, health, property, economic interests, the public welfare or the environment
- Comply with regulations and guidelines for the practice of professional engineering in the Province of licensure including but not limited to professional responsibility, the Engineer’s duty to report, use of the Professional Engineer’s seal, due diligence, report writing, giving opinions, communications, confidential information, data gathering, and site investigations
- Carry out day-to-day project-specific tasks and duties as planned and identified
- Plan for and execute appropriate means and methods in engineering to complete the assigned tasks and duties on small projects or elements of mid to large-size projects from inception through to completion
- Consult with the assigned manager or higher to seek guidance and input during the key phases of a project
- Complete any tasks assigned by Engineering III or higher in an efficient and timely manner
- Working Conditions
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering
- Significant design and construction experience for building systems is preferred
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in the related area of specialty
- Licenses OR Certifications:
- Holding recognized PEng. licensure in the province of practice
- Holding a valid Secret security clearance
- Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of prevailing means and methods in engineering area of specialty
- Competent in other engineering-related software
- Ability to arrange priorities and escalate competing risks to meet deadlines
- Keen eye for detail and adept problem-solving abilities
- Must have demonstrated experience relaying and receiving information (written and verbal)
- Effective skills in Microsoft Office
- Equipped to work independently and as part of a team
