Job summary

Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is seeking an Infection Control Practitioner to lead the Infection Prevention and Control program. The role supports Patient and Family Centred Care and collaborates with clinical teams to prevent infection and maintain safety across the hospital.

The position requires CIC certification, strong knowledge of infectious diseases, and experience in an acute care setting. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in a health-related field (e.g. Bachelor of Science, Practical Nursing, Medical Laboratory) is required.
  • Current unencumbered license/registration from a regulatory body (e.g. CNO, COLT) and CIC certification.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from CBIC is required.
  • CBIC endorsement in IPACCanada is preferred.
  • Recent experience as an Infection Control Practitioner, preferably in acute care, with knowledge of infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ongoing Infection Prevention and Control program for Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
  • Work under the Manager, IPAC to implement PFCC principles and ensure patient and staff safety.
