Job summary

YMCA BC is seeking an Early Childhood Educator, Infant-Toddler for a temporary, full-time position in British Columbia. 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday with rotating shifts 7:15am–6:00pm. Start ASAP with end date October 1, 2027.

Salary: $32.66/hour (ECE-IT certificate, includes $6/hour wage enhancement). Responsibilities include delivering the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, building relationships with families, and ensuring a safe, engaging environment.

Qualifications

• Basic ECE certification from a BC-recognized program.
• Emergency First Aid and CPR-C & AED certification within 30 days of start date.
• Criminal Record check with Vulnerable Sector within 6 months before start date.
• 3 satisfactory references required.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and creative programming directly to children.
• Build meaningful relationships with children and families.
• Create a supportive, safe environment for staff and families in partnership with team.
• Deliver high-quality, age-appropriate programs based on YMCA curriculum.
• Ensure supervision and smooth transitions between play areas with the team.
• Use the Weemarkable app for daily parent communication and updates.
• Maintain a clean and safe program environment; follow licensing and curriculum standards.
