Job summary

Mikisew Group is seeking a Tool Repair Technician to support the Fort McMurray operation. Two positions are available, with a rotation schedule and potential site-based work. You will inspect, diagnose, repair and certify heavy and light industrial tools and equipment.

Applicants should be mechanically inclined, hold a Alberta Class 5 license, CSO certification, and be eligible to work at oil sands sites in Fort McMurray. Overtime and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated commitment to working safely.
• Comfortable working with hydraulic pressure up to 10,000psi.
• Comfortable with voltage ranges 16-600 vac and 12-600 vdc (welding machines).
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently.
• Maintain clean/organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect & diagnose failures on pumps, motors, welding machines, power units and control circuits.
• Disassembly/inspection/repair of electrical tools.
• Perform certification testing and documentation of welding machines and related equipment.
• Maintain, calibrate and repair in-house equipment as required.
• Small tool repair as assigned.
