Job summary

City of Winnipeg is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to install, inspect, maintain and repair refrigeration and cooling systems across facilities managed by the Assets and Project Management Department. Under the supervision of the HVAC Foreman, you will analyze problems, dismantle, adjust and repair components as required in alignment with standard trades practices and code requirements.

The role requires a Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certificate, a WFPS Service Person

Qualifications

• Must possess Red Seal Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning certificate recognized by Manitoba.
• Must possess and maintain a WFPS Service Person License.
• Must possess a Red Seal Gas Fitter.
• Must possess a MOPIA Certification.
• Two (2) years of experience with Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration and Cooling System Installations.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Proficiency operating a PC using Outlook, Excel and Word and ability to learn other software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair HVAC Systems.
• Coordinate Contractors.
• Coordinate annual Regulatory Inspections.
• Perform duties related to safety, working relationships, training, licenses, tools and other duties as required.
