Qualifications

Reporting to the Paint Supervisor, the purpose of Industrial Painter includes, but is not limited to, performing all aspects of the Paint Department, working with other employees as part of a team, and being prompt and on time daily. Candidates should have experience with paint spray techniques and learn all aspects of the job as required.

With a foundation of integrity, the candidate would use commitment and creativity to drive our organization forward. This position is based at Enerflex’s Southeast Calgary facility.

Work schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts per week.

Day shift: 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, 4 days a week.

Evening shift: 5:00 pm - 3:00 am, 4 days a week, including a $5 per hour premium.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Knowledge of Alkyd, Enamel, Polyurethane, Epoxies, and Zinc industrial paints.
  • Painting Gas Compression, Gas Processing, and Power Generation equipment to a high standard, primarily using airless spraying equipment.
  • Knowledge of painting methods, techniques, and the safe use, storage, and disposal of paint and cleaning products.
  • Use of wet and dry paint thickness MIL gauges.
  • Performing soluble salt testing and low voltage holiday detection.
  • Using Replica Tape to determine sandblast profile.
  • Measuring environmental conditions and recording accurately.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work with paint specifications and achieve strict tolerances.
  • Experience with mixing, thinning, and applying industrial coatings via airless spray, brush, and roller is an asset.
  • 2 to 3 years of related work experience; experience in a similar industry is considered an asset.
  • Auto body painters will be considered.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
