Job summary

General Motors Canada is hiring an experienced Industrial Millwright Mechanic for our Oshawa Assembly. This full-time onsite role offers a starting wage of $55.97 per hour with COLA adjustments and shift premiums.

You will join a team dedicated to zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion while contributing to the launch of a new truck plant. Ideal candidates have Millwright certification, a Canadian Millwright Apprenticeship, and the ability to work any shift with overtime as required.

Qualifications

• High School education required with valid Millwright License.
• Successful completion of Canadian Millwright Apprenticeship Program.
• Basic Computer Skills required.
• Welding experience and Heavy Equipment license an asset (Broderson Dual Ticket an asset).
• Must be available to work any shift and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Safely repair, overhaul, install, replace and/or perform preventative maintenance on various types of equipment.
• Ability to fabricate parts and assemblies from blueprints or scratch.
• Troubleshoot robotic welding cells, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, valves, cylinders, conveyance systems, gear boxes and pump.
• Rigging and Hoisting

Job Description Onsite - This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Oshawa Assembly on a full-time basis. The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Millwright/Industrial Millwright Mechanics to join our Oshawa Facility!

Key Responsibilities

Relocation Allowance – subject to eligibility criteria Compensation: Starting at a full rate of $55.97 plus a Cost Of Living Adjustment (COLA) – currently $0.05/hour Plus you will earn an afternoon shift premium of 5%, a night shift premium of 10%, paid overtime (x1.5 and x2.0) in accordance with the collective agreement COLA Adjustments on a quarterly basis DC Pension Program with Employer Match up to 2080 hours Annual General Wage increases scheduled in 2024 and 2025.
