The Job Opportunity :

The Smurfit Westrock Ajax facility is looking for Industrial Millwrights to work in our Maintenance department. This position is responsible to install, maintain and repair all equipment within the plant.

Install New Electrical Systems :

• Read blue prints to understand how / where installation are to occur
• Participate as a team member to install or move any large machinery in the plant

Plant / Machinery Preventative Maintenance :

• Ensure machinery within the plant is regularly serviced and operating well
• Operate Power Tools to perform necessary repairs
• Operate Lathe, Welder, Milling Machine, Drill Presses, Cutting Tools, and Saws to repair damaged parts or design new parts
• Regular cleaning, checking all equipment within the plant to ensure satisfactory operation and safety

Trouble Shooting :

• Respond to machine operators request for a work order by running the machine to determine exactly what the problem is
• Read and understand necessary blue prints to help determine where the problem is

What you need to succeed :

• Successful completion of a post secondary education in Mechanical / Millwright program or equivalent
• Industrial Millwright license / certification in good standing
• Minimum 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Full understanding of CSA and Code electrical standards and compliance
• Experience working with lathe, welder, milling machine, drill presses and cutting tools considered an asset.
• Can do attitude and willingness to learn and grow with the Company
• Ability toadapt to changes in priorities, work independently and with a team
• Read and understand blue prints, specifications, and manufacturers manuals
• Ability to stand and walk 100% of shift on a concrete floor and ability tolift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.

Shift Schedule :

Must be able to work all 12 hour rotating shifts :

• Days : 7 : 00 AM to 7 : 00 PM
• Nights : 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 00 AM
• Shifts rotate every two weeks and include working weekends
