Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to install, repair, maintain, test and troubleshoot machinery and equipment in an industrial environment according to manufacturers' specifications and drawings.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience with metal stamping presses and related systems, plus a Provincial Trade License or equivalent. Willingness to work shifts, including midnights, is required; benefits include safety training and comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications

• Provincial Trade License or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience maintaining metal stamping presses and related equipment.
• Knowledge of press room equipment and machine rebuilding.
• Able to work with limited supervision.
• Willing to work shifts including midnights if required.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and wear protective equipment.
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine procedures.
• Dismantles and moves machinery using hoists, dollies, rollers and trucks.
• Assembles and installs equipment such as presses, shafts and conveyors.
• Constructs foundations for machines.
• Assembles and aligns machines and equipment, and ensures they are fastened to foundation or other structures.
• Grinds, files or turns machine parts to dimensional specifications.
• Repairs and lubricates machines and equipment.
• May install robots.
• May perform installation and maintenance work as part of a team of skilled trades workers.
• Performs and documents all p.m. activities as directed by Maintenance Manager.
• Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels of spare parts, lubricants, etc.
