Job summary

Saint-Gobain in Canada is seeking a skilled Industrial Millwright to keep our manufacturing lines running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain critical production equipment while collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

The role requires a Red Seal Millwright certification with 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial settings, and strong knowledge of mechanical systems and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Red Seal Industrial Mechanic certification with 5+ years in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, power transmission, rotating equipment, and process machinery.
  • Experience using CMMS; SAP experience is an asset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair conveyors, mixers, compressors, pneumatic systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond quickly to breakdowns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to maximize reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.

Job description

Competitive pay: $40.83 - $45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Flexible schedules to support work-life balance:

  • Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Or a 12-hour rotating schedule (6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.) with a 3-3-4 pattern, giving you more consecutive days off throughout the month.

As an Industrial Millwright, you'll play a key role in keeping our manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. You'll troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve critical production equipment while working alongside Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance teams in a safety-focused environment.

  • Maintain and repair conveyors, mixers, compressors, pneumatic systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond quickly to breakdowns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to maximize reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis initiatives.
  • Follow all safety standards, including LOTO procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in support of 5S and WCM practices.

Is this job for you ?
  • Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certification or recognized provincial equivalent, with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, bearings, power transmission, rotating equipment, and process machinery.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS); SAP experience is an asset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Proficient in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and maintenance shop equipment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills with the ability to work across departments.
  • Forklift, aerial lift, elevated work platform, rigging certifications, and personal trade tools are considered assets.

This position works primarily in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to industrial noise, moving machinery, dust, chemicals, vibration, varying temperatures, and limited climate control. The facility operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and the successful candidate may be required to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, holidays, and participate in emergency call-outs as business needs require.

Must be able to spend a signifiant amount of time on plant floor. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Job may require long periods of sitting, walking, standing, working on a computer or engaging in telephone conversation. Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards and policies.
