Job summary

STELCO - The Steel Company of Canada is seeking an Industrial Millwright in Nanticoke, Ontario. The successful candidate will work with heavy industrial equipment, cranes and hydraulic/pneumatic systems, ensuring safe production and adherence to company procedures.

Reporting to the Area Manager, this permanent position requires a minimum of two years in an industrial setting and a Millwright qualification. The role involves shift work and strict safety compliance across a high‑volume facility.

Qualifications

• Industrial Millwright Certificate of Qualification (433A).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
• Previous work experience in a unionized environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Handle, transport, and process product and materials using equipment.
• Operate and inspect material handling equipment (overhead/mobile cranes); light mobile equipment (forklifts, pickup trucks).
• Operate mechanical equipment (pipe threader, cut off saw).
• Operate and inspect hand-held equipment (torches, oxygen lances, pneumatic/power actuated tools).
• Maintain or repair operating equipment.
• Produce a daily log (verbal/written/computerized) to communicate completed tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints/drawings, produce rough sketches with abbreviations and tolerances.
• Set up and perform alignments on equipment.
• Maintain safe housekeeping to ensure a clean work area.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, compressors, pumps and turbines.
• Work with heavy industrial equipment.
