The Position:
Reporting to the Mechanical Integration Manager, Nuclear, the Industrial Mechanic will assemble, set-up, test, and commission custom designed automated systems related to our Energy Division, while delivering the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings including pneumatic/hydraulic schematics, BOMs, and detailed assembly drawings.
• Ability to identify manufactured and purchased components by referencing drawings, and other technical documentation.
• Assemble, fit, align, plumb, and integrate work stations or systems that may include pneumatics/hydraulics, electrical sensing components, power transmission systems, and conveyor systems/feeder systems using a variety of hand and power tools (hydraulic, pneumatic, and battery).
• Ability to troubleshoot, service, and perform required repairs to automated equipment.
• Experience with the assembly of large structural assemblies.
• Able to do final inspection on completed assemblies.
• Experience with use of overhead cranes, forklifts and scissor lifts.
• Ability to plan and execute complex and heavy lifts ranging from 10 – 100 Tons including identifying the center of gravity for an object, when to use lifting beams, booms, and chain falls, selection and inspection of rigging, identifying weights/appropriate lift points.
• Communicate and ensure that the rigging and lift planning are in compliance with industry health and safety requirements.
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently, as well as part of a team to complete tasks within indicated timelines.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and travel as required in varying timelines
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures
• Maintain a calm and professional attitude
• Clean and organized work habits are a must
• Travel to customer location for service and install
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
• Certificate of Qualification for a Millwright, Tool & Die Maker, Iron worker, or has demonstrated equivalent experience an Energy, Power Generation or heavy industrial environment.
• 5+ years’ experience in an Industrial manufacturing environment.
• Any Experience with Z299 or N299 quality level energy projects is an asset.
• Experience with moving heavy machinery an asset.
• Basic knowledge of Candu refurbishment is an asset.
• Ability to work comfortably at heights
